Our beautiful daughter arrived last week, safe & sound…7lb 1oz of pure joy. 🥹

…time now though to get back to those tiny hands.

It was great to make it to this month’s coffee meet-up. As ever, this is one of the highlights of my month - @vicki.femalefounders does a great job of bringing this special Warwickshire business community together. Always someone on hand to lift you up, share a story, give business advice and words of wisdom, and generally send you off into the weekend full of caffeine, smiles and gratitude! 😀

💻🌿☕️ One of my favourite local spots to leave the home office behind and enjoy a change of scenery (along with much better coffee! 🙌🏻)

Am in the final weeks now before maternity leave begins, so today’s visit has given me a chance to work on some handover prep (yes, the business will continue without me for a little while, with the brilliant assistance of newly onboarded eleVAte associates - exciting!👌🏻)

But back now to enjoying the coffee, productivity and quiet surrroundings…I’ll be missing it soon enough. 😉

The view from behind my desk lately…☺️

In case you were starting to wonder why I’ve been a bit quieter than usual…it’s because I’ve been a little pre-occupied!!

I’m over the moon to announce that I’m pregnant and, together with my husband, am looking forward to the arrival of our first baby this summer! 🤰☀️❤️

Am so happy to finally be able to share this amazing news. It’s definitely not been an easy journey to get here (I’ll maybe share more about that another time), and in full honesty, I’m still a bit in disbelief… and of course, the anxiety remains high, even though at the same time I’m feeling *all* the joy. 🥹

I know that these announcements can be difficult for many. So for anyone who’s deep in the midst of a fertility struggle, my heart is with you entirely. Remember you are not alone in this. But there is always hope. 🤍

I’ll be sharing more info on what this means for eleVAte over the next days, so make sure you’re following me @elevate_virtualassistant to not miss any updates! 🔔

👌🏻 London’s always a good idea…

A lovely few days away, taking advantage of my ‘virtual’ work status, fitting in a work/mini break, which incidentally, I always have to get over my guilt for taking (no idea why this happens - do other self-employed people feel this too when they break their regular routine?!? Let me know! 🤷‍♀️)

As always though, a trip away did me the world of good…and whilst the high priority work was still taken care of, I’m feeling refreshed and energised again, after a change of scenery and a good dose of London culture! 🇬🇧

So, now to the favourite parts of my trip…

🏨 The Hoxton Southwark @thehoxtonhotel. A beautifully designed hotel, this was the perfect place to work from and the best sleep I’ve had at any hotel for a while now! 😴 I found the best comfy spot to work (see pic) and it was a perfect location for the South Bank and Borough Market.
🎨 Tracey Emin: ‘A Second Life’ - a seriously good exhibition from @traceyeminstudio currently showing at Tate Modern @tate. Heartbreaking and inspirational in equal measures, it’s an amazing journey of Emin’s life and art from the past forty years. Highly recommend, she’s one amazing woman!
🍽️ The Devonshire Soho @devonshiresoho - well worth getting organised enough to book weeks in advance (check the booking calendar as early as you can, for when the date you want is open for reservations). The restaurant, the staff, the atmosphere, the food (and the Guinness!) will reward you highly for your forward planning efforts!
🍷 Borough Market - always a great atmosphere and so many unique food/drink stands. Head there from 4pm to grab some bargains - I picked up some deliciously sweet treats from @comptoir_bakery…the lemon meringue pie was divine, though gone too quickly to take a photo!

I also got to have a joyful lunch meet-up with a client of mine who just so happened to be in London (on what was the hottest day of the year so far! ☀️) Always so much fun to meet with Julia in person (see last pic)…great to catch up and hear how everything’s going with her fantastic business!
